Join Us in Welcoming Past
Rotary International President Ravi
We are both thrilled and honored to announce that Past Rotary International President (Ravi) Ravindran will be attending the Mediators Beyond Borders International Peace Congress. This is a tremendous endorsement of our partnership, as Rotary and MBBI work together towards our mutual mission to build a better world through Peace.
As Sri Lanka's chair of Rotary's polio eradication efforts, Past Rotary International President Ravi led efforts to eradicate polio from Sri Lanka. He became a pioneer by leading his country to be one of the first to become polio-free in Asia. The PolioPlus task force, which he headed, included Rotary, UNICEF and the Sri Lankan government, and succeed in negotiating a ceasefire during the civil war, allowing polio immunizations to continue during scheduled National Immunization Days.

CONDENSED 3 HOUR TRAINING:
The Peace Conversation Facilitation (PCF) Program is designed to empower Rotarians to engage their local clubs and districts in difficult conversations. Conflict, especially when unaddressed, can be destructive, distract us from our mission and erode the fabric that binds the Rotary Family. The PCF program is a process to safely surface conflict in a way that is fair, honest, builds upon our fellowship and is collective benefit to everyone involved.
People of Action are DISRUPTORS
Rotarians are People of Action, and People of Action are DISRUPTORS by nature. Because they create change. Through this Congress, you will gain transformative skills, a clear vision, and practical strategies that will help you expand or launch your Peacebuilding work, and contribute to the 2020 Decade of Peace Initiative.
Rotary needs your voice to share the Rotary experience and viewpoint, and to learn from leaders in the field of conflict prevention, transformation, and healing.
Represent Your Club and Your District
Rotary has been instrumental in its contribution to peace-building and conflict-transformation. Through your registration and attendance, your clubs and districts will be represented at the Congress. Furthermore, your presence would serve to represent your country in this international event. This program is designed to add immense value to the many parts of Rotary family, and to build lasting relationships among leaders, influencers, and practitioners around the world.
Sponsor a Peacebuilder to Attend
For many peacebuilders around the world, the average person’s discretionary income is a few hundred dollars a month. That being the case, the Congress registration fee alone is cost-prohibitive. However, there is significant interest in the Congress in communities across the world. We are inviting Rotary Clubs from across the globe to sponsor a peacebuilder from their country to attend, and we will give them special recognition at the event as a "Peace Sponsor". The cost to sponsor an international peacebuilder is around $2,500 to cover flights, accommodation, and registration.
